Job Description

 

Hi there! We’re looking for a Game Systems Designer with significant experience shipping games professionally, who is self-directed and excellent at collaborating across disciplines. We consider this a senior role due to the emphasis on understanding priorities at the project level and aligning the efforts of the concept and design teams.

Get Set Games is working on a project with Gearbox Publishing for leading consoles and PC that breaks new ground and we’ll need a Game Systems Designer with a breadth of knowledge creating systems for video games.

You will be designing core components of the game, focusing on loot systems, damage and health systems, inventory tracking, level progression, and difficulty balancing. The metagame and loot system, tied into game-changing components of the game are critical features that will require solid planning and careful iteration. You will be coordinating with other designers and developers to deliver a balanced and rewarding experience for the player. You’ll be a key contributor to our team, and we’ll always support your continued growth.

The Systems Design Domain

 

You will be working on the metagame and balancing components of the game that bind everything together in the player experience. You’ll be developing a sophisticated and streamlined reward, progression, inventory and difficulty scaling systems for the player that enhances and deepens the core gameplayer experience. We operate in the UE4 environment and we will be delivering on multiple hardware platforms. Knowledge of Blueprints will be a bonus.
