QA MANAGER

Job Category

Programming

Location

We prefer team members to be onsite in our Toronto office, but we’re prepared to be flexible on remote work.

Job Description

Hi there! We’re looking for a QA Manager with experience shipping games professionally and who is self-directed and excellent at collaborating across disciplines. The QA Manager will produce project-wide test plans, direct the efforts of platform-specific testing, and mentor other QA team members.

Get Set Games is working on a project with Gearbox Publishing for leading consoles and PC that breaks new ground and we’ll need a manager to lead the entire QA team across all platforms and interface with external testing (e.g. publisher QA).

You’ll be building your team, helping each member develop, and serving the testing needs of other disciplines. You’ll be a key contributor to our team, and we’ll always support your continued growth.

People at Get Set Games

The foundations of the company were laid almost a decade ago, which is an eternity in the games industry. We attribute our longevity to humility and mutual respect amongst team members. Folks here balance work and life and we solve problems proactively.

Values

Aligning with our values is a prerequisite for becoming a great addition here.

We Value Aesthetic Excellence – The goal of our technology decisions is to deliver smooth gameplay, unique art, and well-crafted design to our players

We Value People – We hire skilled people, not resources, and trust them to do excellent work

We Value Personal Improvement – Everyone is encouraged to learn, improve, and take and give feedback as adults

We Value Good Health – Our environment and workplace practices promote emotional and physical wellbeing.

The Most Important Parts of Your Job

Professional experience – You need to be familiar with every phase of getting a game out the door, working with a team from prototype to cert to release. A university degree is nice, so is experienced in a related field, but your team is counting on the fact that this isn’t your first rodeo.

Self-directed – If your queue is empty you won’t wait for someone to tell you what to work on. You drive your own efforts to learn and grow.

Top to bottom QA knowledge – We’re building a QA team from the ground up and your experience with this field is the driving force. You’re at home validating builds to be promoted from dev environment to test to production, and you’re ready to test builds on different platforms to move from alpha to beta to release candidate.

The QA Domain

We run the Unreal continuous integration processes and plan to automate multiple environments using Jenkins. We operate in the UE4 environment and deliver on multiple hardware platforms.
