SENIOR CHARACTER MODELER
We prefer team members to be onsite in our Toronto office, but we’re prepared to be flexible on remote work.
Hi there! We’re looking for a Senior Character Modeler with significant experience shipping games professionally, who is self-directed and excellent at collaborating across disciplines. We consider this a senior role due to the emphasis on understanding priorities at the project level and aligning the efforts of the art, design and cinematics teams.
Get Set Games is working on a project with Gearbox Publishing for leading consoles and PC that breaks new ground and we’ll need a Senior Character Modeler with a breadth of knowledge working in the games industry.
You’ll be working on player characters, major enemies and bosses for the game. You will also be coordinating with animators, riggers and concept artists to deliver a unified and exciting experience for players. You’ll be a key contributor to our team, and we’ll always support your continued growth.

Professional experience: You need to be familiar with every phase of getting a game out the door, working with a team from prototype to release. Your team is counting on the fact that you’ve done this before, with skill and commitment.

Collaborating across disciplines: You’ll be helping animators, game designers, and the cinematics team do their job more effectively. You’ll be collecting requirements, making revisions and helping to guide the stylistic direction of the environmental design for the game. The importance of great communication can’t be overstated.
The Character Modeling Domain
You will be creating characters that will work for both gameplay and cinematics, maintaining a clear stylistic consistency across player characters and enemies. You’ll be creating characters built to handle dynamic body and facial animation, responsive combat and natural locomotion. You have an ability to create clean models that balance performance with visual quality and style. You will be expected to have advanced knowledge of ZBrush and Max or Maya, as well as proficiency in UV mapping, baking, and retopology. Knowledge of Photoshop and material creation apps such as Substance, as well as familiarity with creating assets for the UE4 engine, will be a strong bonus.
